Preferred temperature range: 15-30° C.
Will tolerate temperatures as low as 5° C if protected from frost.

* sphagnum moss peat / perlite / orchid bark

Middle pitcher

A small plant that can be grown in a 140mm hanging pot but may be more suited to a 110mm pot. The basal rosette develops into a vine in the plant’s first year, with a new basal bud forming once the vine is about 50cm long . Stems are very narrow and spindly, and will fork halfway up. Very vigorous, grows multiple vines. Small pitchers (upper pitchers can be more than double the size of the lower pitchers). Flowers readily. Very small fruits.

Nepenthes tobaica
Where found: Lake Toba and other locations in Sumatra, Indonesia.

Altitudinal distribution: 380-1800 m above sea level, but some authors have stated that it can be found at altitudes up to 2750m.
(Ultra lowland to highland / ultra highland).

Nepenthes tobaica is closely related to N. angasanensis, N. gracilis, N. mikei, and N. reinwardtiana.

Where found: Vietnam.

Altitudinal distribution: 0 – 200m above sea level (ultra lowland).
